Amazon - Thank my driver program

The Amazon "Thank my driver" program is active again for a short time. If you have delivery notifications set up through Alexa, just simply say, "Alexa, thank my driver". I always thank my driver, and today Alexa responded saying she will give my driver a $5 reward to show appreciation. She also said this offering was for a limited time only, so I assume it's just for the holiday season. Cha-ching for the drivers! $$$ 😀

So typical of billion dollar corporations asking the for average or lower income person to pay their workers bonus. As it is the consumer already pay the driver.

If you have a favorite delivery man , mailman, gift them . The drivers deserve more especially during the holidays. The company should pay their bonus out of the large amounts purchases during this time.

I went on the Amazon site but could find no information about it. I remember it from last year and would like to see my guy get rewarded. He's the only one who'll ring my doorbell.

Just pay Mr. Bezos a little less and pay the drivers.

The money is paid by Amazon not by the customers.

Here is the info:

Starting December 4, when a customer says, “Alexa, thank my driver,” from an Alexa-enabled device or searches “thank my driver” on Amazon (app or web), the driver who completed their most recent delivery will be notified of the customer’s appreciation and, with each of the first 2 million thank-yous, drivers will also receive $5 at no cost to the customer.

@Kachina624 is correct. It's coming out of Amazon's pocket. Sure, our purchases are paying for it in the end, but as @San Antonio Gal said, it's less in Bezos' pocket. I'd rather have the drivers get a little extra cash in their pockets to use however they choose then leaving some token gift they don't want or can't use. I never even see my drivers as most times the deliveries arrive when I'm at work.

Thank you for the reminder! I received a package today and am expecting one tomorrow and one on Sunday. I thanked the driver for today's delivery and will remember to do it when my next Amazon orders arrive. ❤😁
