Their own shipping that is. Local news has shown pictures of them throwing packages out of the trucks, you never know when they come, and a guy just pulled up with rap music blaring so loud you could hear it in our house, and we live some back from the road.
It appears they will hire anyone, put them in a truck and let them go.
My FedEx, NOT my favorite shipper, left a package at another house Saturday.

I have ordered numerous items from Amazon the last few weeks and personally do not find that to be true in my case.

My Amazon shipments have always been promptly delivered to my front door. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones?

UPS seems to be using a lot of contractors to deliver packages in their private vehicles. I used to assist UPS in hiring their drivers, and in those days they only hired the cream of the crop, preferably recently honorably discharged veterans. I bet they're still pretty picky with hiring their permanent employees.
From my experience, FedEx is a disaster.

Over the last 4 weeks have had 2 items damaged in shipping and refunds issued (meaning I had to reorder). Have had delayed shipping on several items in spite of tracking saying "out for delivery"; then after midnight got email message about delayed shipping, "you will be informed as to new delivery date". Nothing like what the OP experienced.

Amazon has always been good with their quick shipping, but this is with their own delivery trucks that have caused some issues in our area. We hadn't seen Amazon marked vans until recently and a lot of people aren't pleased with that service. Not their regular shipping through other carriers. I should have explained better.

This year has been different for me...I buy very little on line but 4 items I needed were out of stock in the stores, so I had to have them shipped. Today I received 3 of the 4 packages and one package from Amazon arrived the day after I ordered. Everything was in pristine condition.
I also ordered several things from QVC...the shipping has been fast. I purchased the ADVENT calender box of beauty things....which is a treat for me, I buy very few beauty items....it is a VERY NICE box of products, I am looking forward to experimenting with everything!

I order from Amazon all the time. Fortunately, I've never had one of their carriers deliver my packages. It's always UPS or USPS.

Interesting. I have had no problems at all with Amazon van delivery. In fact -- when I receive deliveries from Amazon vans -- there is actually a photo of the item where it was left in the email telling me that the item had arrived. I really like that. Luck of the draw I guess.
