Re: Amazon Prime Day 7/11-12

[ Edited ]

Sifting though page after page seeking worthwhile deals is a non-starter and it seems the vast majority of things on any of my lists tend not to be discounted, I have saved a few dollars here or there in the past, but unless something jumps out at me, I'm not going looking for it. Frankly, I think Prime Day is a bit of a bust.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 7/11-12

I placed an order but it was for things I use on sale. Nothing special.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 7/11-12

I had about six items I was interested in buying. None were having Prime deals. I will look at other competing sites tonight.

One of my biggest complaints is the lack of filters for the Prime offers to narrow a search. Without them it's a time waster.

Also I don't remember seeing the "lightening" deals.

If you go to the Prime Day Deals at the top of the page and click on it, down the left column is a way to filter by category.

Amazon manipulates the prices.  I was looking at a hair dryer yesterday that was $159 with a $50 coupon off.  Today it's $129 with a $20 coupon.

Yes, prices change all the time on Amazon, but $50 off of $159 is the same as $20 off of $129.  So, I'm not really sure what your point is.  There's an app called Keepa that tracks the price of things in your Wish List and will notifiy you when the price goes down.  It also will show you the price history of the item when you're on the item page.

I know, and then I'm given 28 pages or more depending on the category, to go through mostly of the same useless stuff that's usually included in their daily deals.

No selection by Brand, or size, or price range.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 7/11-12

I glanced through a few pages, and didn't see anything I actually needed, so thought I would check again tomorrow, or not. Then, just now, I remembered a large wind spinner I had seen maybe 2 weeks ago that I was interested in, so I looked it up and the price is down nearly $40, so yep, it's on order.

@cjm61 I'm not overly interested either.  But, if I run across a good deal on a Fitbit Sense, I'll probably get that.  I burned mine up doing yardwork a couple of months ago.  It even shocked me when it died.  There's a newer model out, but I'm not interested in the added functionality so hoping for a deal on the onlder model.

Sooo, the Fitbit Sense was not a Prime Day special.  They now have a Sense 2 so I was hoping.  The Sense 2 is on sale for $229 vs regular $299, but it's still a bit rich for me.  However, I had the Sense in my Wish List and noticed a lower price $154.99 than when I put it in my Wish List.  But, if I clicked on it and went to the product description page it jumped up to $169.xx.  I finally figured out it was a sale just for me.  If I put it in my cart from my Wish List I would get the lower price, but if I put it in my cart from the product description page, I would get the higher price.  I've been seeing the Sense other places for $229, so decided $154.99 was a good enough price so I got it.

I also picked up a couple of items I already use, Timeless Matrixyl Synthe'6 Serum & VieBeauty Lash Serum, and also added a glass nail file.  The Timeless was not a Prime Day Deal, but kkkI had planned on getting some anyways.

Also got a Prime Day deal on a metal hose.  We already have a Bernini and like it and decided we wanted one for the back yard instead of the heavy hose we have.  Bernini has really gone up in price on their hose, so I decided to get this Prime Day Deal.  None of them, including the Bernini gets great reviews, so I figured they're probably all about the same quality.

ETA: Oh, and I used $50 in Prime Rewards, so I really got the Fitbit for like $104.  And they have 6% back if using their card during Prime Day.
