@skuggles wrote:@chickenbutt No I know I'm not confusing the two. I called them recently, and they were very good about it. They said they would look into it. The two Items that I ordered since then came in the two days. The others are ordering "out of a warehouse" located outside the two day shipping possibility for my location per the CS rep.. They issued me a credit. I don't think they should promise two day and deliver on the promise for a "certain geographic location" only. It doesn't say that anywhere when I order prime eligible items.
@skuggles yes this is exactly what my mom said they told her too! There is nothing that indicates, as you state, that the 2 day is certain geographic locations only.
That doesn't sound good, unless they make it clear up front. I've never heard that only certain areas have the two-day thing. I imagine there might be certain areas that are more complicated and maybe two-day delivery isn't possible but I'd like to think that when you check out it gives you an accurate ETA.
I live adjacent to a small city - pretty small, like maybe a pop of 250,000 - and have yet to have problems. But to be fair, there is an Amazon warehouse not far from me so some of the categories from which I order are stocked there, making it beyond easy to get it there in two days - often one.
I'm moving from a population of 4+ million to 18,000. Quite a drop ;-(
It's likely that there will be more residents that are nice, due to a less-hectic atmosphere. 8-)
Definitely more country, non rat-race people. And I will not be rushing anywhere or impatient either. Not working=no stress ;-)

@chickenbutt wrote:Oh wow, Moonchilde! Your life will probably be VERY different, eh? I hope you LOVE where you move. Nothing worse than moving and hoping for a fresh start in a new place, or just a pleasant new place, and finding yourself in h-e-double-L.
Since you've spent time there, however, it sounds like you have it dialed in.
I'll never move again, sadly, but if I could I would love to live in the Monterey Bay area - either Monterey or Pacific Grove. I love it there so much. It's a little bigger there than here, I suppose, and more expensive. But I'd be near my beloved Pacific Ocean and I've always loved that area.
Anyway, best to ya!!
Thanks, @chickenbutt 😎
I seem to remember now that we've discussed this before. I will be within 35-40 minutes drive of Monterey & Pacific Grove 😍, just north of Salinas. I will be in Monterey/PG often, and planning trips to San Jose and other reachable areas.
I love the area, but the small town aspect where I will be means almost no fast food or big chain stores without a bit of a drive, instead of down the street 😟 But Marina is getting an In-n-Out!
That ALONE is worth the move!
I have one a few blocks from me now, but it's nice to know there will eventually be one there too.

Prime is the way to go. Lots of benefits and I swear the shipping is so fast I think they drop it from the sky. Of course if you order a few items and only rarely.. it might not be worth the cost.

@HappyDaze, I only "discovered" Aptos & Capitola my last two visits, and Capitola will be on my permanent list of spots to go. And Felton - I've fallen in love with the Big Trees railroad. I haven't made it to Santa Cruz proper yet.
@Moonchilde check out Seascape resort in Aptos sometime. you can access an amazing beach right by it. You can walk the grounds too. That is the part of Aptos I like. Yes, Rewood train ride is fun. There are so many awesome places all around there. Make sure to check out the garlic festival and artichoke festivals in that area too (Gilroy and Castroville, I think it is)! Fun!

LOl, yeah you don't have to eat it, lol. I like garlic, but sparingly and in my meal, not in chocolate, not in ice cream, not with anything sweet, but one time I was feeling frisky, lol, and I just tried the garlic ice cream and about puked. Seriously. I can tolerate most things but that was just downright nasty. People were eating it like it was the best thing in the world. I actually spit it out immediately and threw the cone away. What a terrible idea! lol!

My ex-boss was a garlic fiend. There was no such thing as too much for her. Whenever I went on vacation, I brought her garlic braids from the Gilroy stands.

I have Prime and love it..I shop on Amazon enough that it more than pays itself..for everything..a recliner chair..was delivered in great condition in TWO-DAYS!
I get the free monthly book, along with the family loves the streaming Prime..
I know the jump from $35 to $49 is significant for many who don't have prime but the extra $$ for prime is well worth it..i use it for everything.

@Eager2Learn wrote:$35 minimum to $49 is quite a jump if you ask me. I only order about 6 times a year and have no interest in prime.
I remember when free s/h was $25. When it went up to $35, I often had to buy things I really didn't need yet just to get the free shipping.
One thing I've noticed more and more is that their prices on some items are a lot higher than the same items purchased elsewhere. When that's the case, I don't order from Amazon.
I'll be purchasing less often for sure!
The only things I really buy from Amazon are my monthly subscribe/save shipments. I have to start making sure that they total at least $49 per month now.

I don't order enough from Amazon to justify a $99.00 a year membership from Prime. I might have ordered 2 or 3 things last year from them and one of those even shipped for free without Prime and without the $35.00 minimum.
I always look around to find the best deal and it's often not Amazon. I used to order holistic dog food for one of my dogs and it was a lot more expensive on Amazon.
