I'm not sure where this 50,000 number comes from.  It sounds as if there is a little bit of hyperbole.

 

Having headquarters in Crystal City sounds perfectly normal to me - there has been a glut of office space in that area for some years now.  There was a gigantic commercial real estate crash in the early '90s.  Yes, that was not yesterday, but there is infrastructure to support someone like A.
