My Amazon Echo came about an hour ago.  I got a smart plug, too, for a floor lamp.  It's difficult to reach behind my chair, so it's helpful that Alexa can turn it on and off for me.  I love it.  It's playing Christmas music for me now.  It's playing Keith Urban right now.  I'll ask her to play John Legend in a minute.  I'm having fun with it.

Okay @threecees !  She's playing Country Christmas music right now.  I was going to connect my Sirius XM to it, but I'm really enjoying what she's playing on her own, so I probably won't.  She's played Keith Urban, Alabama, Dolly Parton, Luke Bryan and others so far.  She's playing Luke Bryan "Oh Holy Night" right now.  That's my favorite Christmas song.

I love that Alexa will spell words for me, do math problems, figure the distance between geographical points, give the time or function as a timer....there are so many things.

@NickNack : We use the free music available to Prime members and DH had formatted playlists on his phone that we differ nightly.  Sometimes we do thunder showers or waves lapping the beach.  Alexa tells stories and jokes to the grands (I could go on and on).

The sound from the echo's, is amazing ,i bought the set last year ,on here.

I won an Echo in a raffle, and have Prime, but haven't even unboxed the Echo.  This discussion is convincing me that maybe I should set it up.
