I put this question in this catagory because it happens at my local vet clinic. I take my Dottie Dog in fairly frequently for follow ups after she had a year long bout of having AMHA and surviving it. (Thanks to our University). Yesterday I JUST had to say something that has been irratating me for months. The doctor has a 20-something tech and she continually calls me "Hon". I am 60-something. I am sure she calls everyone that. When she came into the waiting room and called my Hon yesterday I just could not bite my tongue anymore and firmly told her "my name is----- not Hon." I worked as a nurse in the medical field for over 40 years and in the medical field you could have been written up for addressing anyone with that term. I know it should be up to the doctors at this clinic to teach their help, but the next time I have an appointment with the doctor I am saying something to her. Yesterday, I was just picking up food. "Am I TOO sensitive???"
