@Mmsfoxxie the person who requested the welfare check has never been identified per state laws. Here is what our local newspaper (The Springfield News-Leader) wrote about the situation in 2015:
"A Greene County Sheriff's deputy was in the home of Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde and her daughter Gypsy five years ago talking about allegations that the daughter was not as sick as the mother claimed.
A report obtained by the News-Leader on Tuesday shows that an unnamed person called authorities in 2009 because of concerns that Gypsy was not sick and might be in danger.
The person who called authorities in 2009 is not named in the report, but that person told deputies he or she had checked on Gypsy and could not find "any symptoms that would support what (Dee Dee) alleges to be wrong with her daughter."
The unnamed caller told deputies that Gypsy had inconsistent birth dates and lacked a medical diagnosis. The caller wanted Gypsy checked on to make sure she was not an endangered runaway or missing juvenile, according to the report.
A deputy responded to the family's home on North Volunteer Way on Oct. 26, 2009, and interviewed the Blanchardes, the report says.
Dee Dee told the deputy that she and her daughter came to Springfield from Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. When confronted about the inconsistent information Dee Dee had provided to the 911 caller, Dee Dee told the deputy that she was divorced and she had changed her daughter's information so that her ex-husband would not be able to find them. Dee Dee told the deputy she was afraid of her ex-husband, according to the report.
The deputy wrote in his report that Gypsy "does suffer from some type of mental handicap." The deputy determined based on a Social Security card that Gypsy was 18 years old in 2009."

@Mmsfoxxie wrote:@Ainhisg , Oh, goodness, I can't remember his name, just that Dee Dee was angry that they came even though she was able to fool them.
ETA: @Ainhisg ..... I had to Google, lol. It was Dr. Lakshmi Chandra, one of her new doctors who couldn't believe her records were correct so he called CPS.
This is not correct. Dr. Chandra is a fictional doctor. The suspicious doctor who never called CPS is the doctor I mentioned earlier: Dr. Bernardo Flasterstein.

My expectations are that as soon as her bank account builds from all this publicity, her husband will become another bad memory.

@MezzieStarr I will google and see what I find, but this is not the story I heard about the boyfriend. In fact I saw an interview with Gypsy and she said that he had the best of intentions for her and just wanted her to be free and in fact they both decided what the plan would be. She convinced him. He was willing to do it for her. She also said that afterwards he couldn't stop crying about what he did. And they went to jail - he got life. She got a lighter sentence and was released recently. Just a short time after being imprisoned she moved on with the other guy. Her interview left me feeling cold. If her telling of the story is true, I have no idea why he is still in prison.
@MezzieStarr wrote:@occasionalrain Have you did your homework on this guy?
He said he wanted to rape Dee Dee as he killed her or rape her dead corpse.
He said killing her was living out one of his sexual fantasies.
He said he has an "evil side" and "enjoys killing".
He's in prison, where he should be.
I certainly wouldn't want him free. You want someone like him in your neighborhood?
If it wasn't Dee Dee, it would have been someone else, or many others. Only a matter of time.
People want to justify this killing because they hate the mother.
It turned out to be a perfect storm of 2 evil people crossing paths.
You could say they both got what they deserved.

Never head of her unril you posted this. Not interested in finding out more after I heard of her.

The whole situation is strange, and I'm not interested in details. I pass by the headlines. Eventually the news will be old and the media will go on to something else.

Maybe she can get her own show on TLC or some other network.
If she wasn't married she would be on some trash show looking for
her next husband. Dancing with the stars in her future??
Sure she's going to ride her so-called celebrity time out.

She had her Mother killed, I understand why, but she had other remedies available, LE, CPS, etc.
Either way, I'm sick of hearing about her and the case.
Please go away!
While the name seemed slightly familiar, I couldn't have told you anything about her. Don't recall any articles about her. I guess I wasn't so lucky the second time.

Oh, yeah. His days are numbered.

Gypsie's mentally challenged gets life, while she get paroled at 8 years. She was the master mind behind the killing of her mother. She just found somebody to do it.
She had way too many options all of her life to end this. She chose not to, until she just had to find her "knight in shining armor." She was in love with love, and nothing was going to stop her.
This boyfriend of hers will not work out, either. Nothing will work for her after you've planned to kill your mother.
Gypsy doesn't seem to understand what she has done and needs more jail time and extensive therapy.
