I usually don't mind lavender, but once bought some little scented trash bags...yuck!

I think lavender is beautiful but I can't stand the smell of it. I also don't like any floral scents in perfumes, soaps etc.

Poor quality synthetic lavender, or oils will turn you off the scent -- forever.  In modest amounts, high quality oils can be quite nice and soothing, but I've experienced so many bad formulas, that I'm scared of them now.

Lavender isn't annoying to me when it's a plant, but smells different once cut or in oil form. Don't like that or eucaplyptus. I'll add gardenia to my list. That's the worst for me. I have to walk out of a room.

I have a friend who is really into essential oils.  When I was going through an especially hard time, she sent me a plug-in diffuser and lavender oil saying it would help my anxiety and depression.  I tried it and couldn't stand the smell so I shut it off and never used it again.  Good thing because I later read that lavender can interfere with blood pressure medication which I do take.  Who knew?

I keep looking it since it is calming.  Hate it.  Perhaps I am beyond calming.

Growing in a garden it is fine but I don't like the scent otherwise.
