You obviously didn't read them all...MANY opposing threads were still up - the ones that used banned words and discussed religion and politics were the ones that were removed.
And BTW - the WHOLE "Beautiful Day" thread was ultimately removed...so if you think that only YOUR side was censored...you are overlooking that fact too....MY thread was deleted as well...the moderators were VERY even handed.
The "con" thread got contentious a lot faster...and was also removed.
But they BOTH are gone now...VERY judicious and even handed.

Don't take the bait. This THREAD is not about deleted threads and their contents.
What "bait" are you talking about?
IS this thread about deleted threads and contents? Because the posts I've read (and not all of them) deal with what one called "the rainbow ruling" and now there are posts about majorities.
Is there an emotie for paranoia?

Some states had it, others did not. Why not wait until the thinking changed and it was changed individually in states?

If that's the way civil rights worked, we'd still have separate seats on the bus and separate drinking fountains in some states.

I'm not 'overlooking' anything Terrier. That being said, my interpretation of events and the moderation, if you want to call it that, differ vastly from your account. Again, NO BIG DEAL.

I am just on the fence. Seven years ago our POTUS had good reasons for thinking other than he does today. I think its wrong to assume other are haters, because they see thing a bit differently
This is a new concept that will take some time for some people

You're the mom here?
I'm reminded of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
When someone here hears "shave and a haircut" they can't stop themselves from answering "two bits."
L.O.L.!!!

Since there is neither magic nor poison in my question, I'll ask it another way. Why hasn't this happened sooner?

The moderation on the old board was a joke! For months and years they stood idly by and let the bullies ruin the board. When bullied posters would respond, they were either banned or just stopped posting altogether.
The dog whistle would blow and perfectly thought provoking threads would get ruined intentionally because it was proven that lists were made to get rid of posters that dared to go against them. So now we have a new stronger moderation system and this same group suddenly feeling victimized. Ironic isn't it?
