Alligators and crocodiles are increasing in numbers in Florida

We are being warned in south Florida that the alligator and crocodile populations are exploding this season! Southwest Florida, southeast Florida and the Keys are all seeing a huge increase in numbers!

They said that it is a combination of the weather conditions and that it is their mating season. We have had very hot weather for weeks now, 10 degrees higher than normal, which seems to excite the alligators and crocodiles even more! They are everywhere now, wherever there is a lake or canal.

They are warning people to watch out for their small children and their pets. They just spotted a 7 ft. alligator in someone's yard. Another big one attacked a teenage boy while he was walking! The only thing that saved him was his baggy pants!! The alligator's teeth got stuck in the big baggy pants that covered his legs and he wasn't cut too much that way.

The authorities said that it was useless to try and find that alligator because the canal, where he came from, was so full of alligators that it would be impossible to find out which one attacked the boy! {#emotions_dlg.scared}
