I just opened my email for the first time today. Saw a notice from my bank saying my credit card had been locked and, of course, they conveniently provided a link so I could get back in business.
Scammer's problem. Their email was posted at 2:40. I had used my card with no problem several hours later.
No, I wouldn't have used their link anyway, but the timing took away any anxiety even before a call to the bank holding the card.

I got an e mail today from a company that could help me with my Business.
I don't have a business and the company was in India!

I saw a news segment on scammers and heard somethimg that hadn't previously occurred to me.
To separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, they deliberately include a mistake or two, so smart or observant people don't reply. They WANT to attract only the people who are .... uh ..... not very bright. People who wouldn't notice misspelled words or illogical requests are much more likely to fall for the scam. THAT is their target market.

@Tinkrbl44Very interesting - I'm flattered - sort of, but this time I chalk up my success to experience more than brains. Went through another bank/credit card scam last month! They're persistent animals!

@Tinkrbl44 Interesting! I've always wondered why the scammers were so careless or why they didn't hire a proofreader!

Don't you guys feel (like I do and other's have said) if these scamers would just devote the same amount of time doing something legal rather than spending it trying to get other people's money they'd be rich but in a legal way.

Any time I get a call or emaill on an account or card I DO have, I never click on a link - I go to the website independently to see if it's real.
Of course, I always ignore phone calls informing me my car warranty is expiring, since I bought it in 2001! LOL

I hear you! I get calls on my cellphone re: my student loan. I'm 66 and didn't go to college on a loan.

I get those emails...weekly. I never click on the link...just delete. Most of the time it is not even a card I have ever had...nor where I have ever banked.
