Selfishly, I would like to include EMS workers in this. My son works long hours for low pay, and some people would never make it to the ED to see a nurse were they not doing their jobs in the field, often under the worst conditions.

I believe that anyone who works to save a life or make someone's life better, deserve their spots in heaven.

In my experience nursing school was a piece of cake in comparison to working - 3 shifts or 2 -12 hour shifts, weekends, holidays. I worked for a while in a unit where we had to work 8 day runs every week , work 8 and get 2 off then work 8 days and get 2 off then work 8 and (finally) get 4 off. By the time you got to your days off you were so tired all you did was sleep. I transferred off that unit ASAP.
