IMO, it's not about looking young, it's all about looking good no matter what age we are.

It's a morale boost, and it includes looking as healthy as we can: clean and nice looking skin and hair. Clothes that flatter and reflect who we are.

It's not about money and it's not about trying to look 20 years younger. Who cares about that? Seriously. Those who make it to 70 and beyond have a story to tell, and hopefully most have gained the wisdom that comes with age.

Well said, Noel.

I remember when my lifelong friend and I were teens and we'd see women in their 50s and 60s wearing mini-skirts and teenage makeup. We said we'd never let that happen to us, and we haven't.

I think the only trick is finding a style we like personally. Ali's is that Taos look, I used to think I'd like the artsy Bohemian look, but I gave up on that one {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Definitely agree with you about the makeup, Noel. The older we get, the more the makeup needs to be toned down. I've seen older women look so harsh because they've never made a change to the way they wear their makeup.

As for the miniskirts, Tina Turner at 74 still looks fabulous in one. Those legs!

Attitude and vibrancy trump gray on anyone. With that in mind, maybe next year I'll be ready to be honest with myself and the world. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Why do some women get so mean and nasty about what color other women's hair is? You want to dye your hair - go for it - enjoy it, but please stop telling me how old it makes me look because I don't chose to dye mine. that is your opinion and your opinion only.

OMG, give me a break. You talk brutally on the BB about women who color their hair and list the reasons why it is stupid, egotistical and wrong. Practice what you preach.

Boy, did you ever hit the nail on the head with this post.

She looks beautiful with her silver hair. It softens her facial features.

She looks great! I think, for a lot of the older baby boomers, letting our hair go gray IS "making a statement" just as much as coloring your hair makes a statement. One is not better than the other. It's how it makes you feel inside. For me, it is a freeing experience and I just like the way it makes me feel.

She is lucky to be just grey at her age, people usually turn white by the time they are sixty.

If your gray is not coming in as you would like it, you can get highlights and lowlights in gray to blend everything in. A woman had it done at the place I go to and it looked beautiful.

I let mine grow natural now, too.
