Love Alexa. It's in the kitchen and now I don't have to turn up Pandora in the pantry where the computer is. I can also cook and ask a question without stopping what I'm doing.

I don't have one. But when l visit friends and family who have Alexa, "her" voice annoys the heck out of me!

OMG @OKPrincess
I'm always asking how old someone is now, too! I love her music playlists, too, we had great Celtic music and songs on St. Patrick's Day.
I'm also always asking what time or date it is when I'm in the living room. DH uses a lot of reminders.
Especially watching these really old movies on TCM, the other night I asked Alexa how old an actor was because the movie was in the 40s. It’s crazy to see some of these actors as young people. Yes, we ask her to play random songs. The only thing she hasn’t done yet is cook a meal!!

I find I use it a lot for work tasks when I'm at home (I also have the phone app and can use it for a few things when I'm in the office, too.)
The big one I use is reminders for conference calls.
Some dope a few years back decided that when your screen locks, you have no need to hear calendar reminders. I guess if your screen locks, you don't need to go to the meeting.
So I tell Alexa to remind me of calls just in case my screen is locked and I miss the reminder.

@beckyb1012....I don't have one, and currently don't want one. I am also out of the loop. I don't have a single friend that has one.

It's also a good way to find out if someone is still alive. The other day I was watching an old Doris Day show and asked Alexa how old she was, on the off chance she's still around. She IS still around and is now 95 years old.

I have Alexa and find myself saying thank you to her after she's answered my question. I'm wondering if others say thank you too.
I like having her around, don't mind her voice but would prefer that of a British gentleman or perhaps a man with a Russian accent. Oh well, if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

I say Thank You, too. My daughter the tech expert tells me it's common that older people say thank you, younger people just see it as a machine. That strikes me funny.

I always say Thank You when she turns my bedroom fan on or off. Actually, I tell her Thank you for everything. Habits are hard to break.
I do like to get her to sing me her country song. That is funny.
DH uses her every morning for weather and sports ... then turns the TV on. Still working on play lists and the weird stuff that comes out of her when we aren't talking to her.
