I thought it was funny, when you hear so many stories of how "Alexa" or the car one, and they respond after you're no longer talking to them.  I do appreciate how we have a small question and can get an answer.  My husband was walking down the hall yesterday, after he'd asked Alexa a question, and then she answered and came back to see if she could be more help.  I yelled down the hall NO, by golly she said, "OK then".  LOL, That tickled me, I had no idea she'd respond to me, on his watch.  LOL

You had any strange conversations with Alexa, or the car lady one?  Surry?

It "learns" what it's programmed to respond and doesn't know anything else.

Our HVAC cleaner was working on our unit next to Alexa & she spontaneously greeted him. He looked at me like I said it but it was Alexa. We laughed

When Alexa first came out, I had one & QVC was selling them & the vendor said “Alexa order me a pizza”. It was early morning & I couldn’t sleep. Luckily, she responded she couldn’t find one at that hour ( something like that)

Recently the inet went down in our building for about 24 hrs. I had trouble getting Alexa back online. After, I succeeded, it said “phew, I’m glad to be back”.

It's Siri.

I'm a Google Girl.  Google owns me hook, line and sinker.  With 13 Google devices in the house (two are outside), 5 have screens, my smart watch, a Galaxy 6 Classic , it can get confusing and chatty.  I have Google installed on my watch so whenever it hears "hey Google", it wants to reply too.  I do have one Alexa but she sits on top of the fridge and is here to just place Amazon orders.   These AIs all go thru glitches.  Some lasts longer than others.  Back in early 2017, when my AI journey first began, I had my first spooky experience with Google.  I was reading something online and out loud said, "oh my goodness!".  Google said, "I hope everything is ok" Smiley Surprised  I froze for about 5 minutes while my mind was processing what just happened.  I didn't say the "hey/ok Google" so she could have not responded.  All in all, I've been very happy with Google and all the smart lights and plugs that are operated by Goolge, including my washer and dryer.  My new Cosori air fryer is "smart".  I don't think I need that and can't imagine using it, but I might.  I haven't even used the air fryer yet Smiley Sad  I love technology as much as I do makeup Smiley Happy

Oh @Snowpuppy , you might want to Google that.  These AIs are very invasive.  If you know that and are ok with it, carry on.  If you don't want Apple, Alexa and Google knowing more about you than anyone else, don't have one in the house, on your phone or in the car.  Google stories about these devices getting caught listening in on conversations.  A few years ago 20/20 did an expose` on AI technology.  Nothing I didn't already know but I'm sure it was an eye opener for many.  I personally love them but say goodbye to privacy.

Our thermostat is also "smart".  I used to tell people we could be in Hong Kong and I could adjust the thermostat.  After hearing that a few times, my dad asked my mom if David and Monica were going to Hong Kong lol

Google runs most everything in this house...lights (inside and out), TVs, fans, probably more.

@monicakm   I wish I were that interested, but, now we can ask you any questions we might have on this line, right?
