I hate that! That's a hard lesson to learn (I.e. To keep better tabs on your money and not always be so trusting). Very sad for her. Hope she has good attorneys!

It's obvious she wasn't signing her own checks.

I personally know a campaign treasurer for a bunch of candidates' campaign committees who did this to the candidates.  She did sign the checks which is common practice - the campaign treasurers commonly in charge of campaign committee funds.  She ended up losing her law license and going to jail!
