I work with someone who is always asking me this easy stuff she could find herself on a Google search, like if there's a particular store in a particular city.
I told her one day that I wasn't her Google Monkey.
I think she stopped speaking to me for a week.

OMG!! There is not a font size large enough for LOL to describe how I reacted to "Google Monkey" I just hope no one down the hall from my office heard me. The nets will be sent. I will have to remember that one.

There are quite a few posters to these forums who seem to expect everyone else to be their Google Monkey in all things - and someone always will be - but it won't be me.

I have an issue with people on the boards who search for something and present it as a "fact" and then defend it to their board death!
I am not on the boards to glean "facts", it's a forum within a shopping channel! Too routinely some folks present the internet carp and expect everyone else to swallow it or chide those who do not.
Most often I am seeking opinions on a product or someone's life experience on an issue. I am quite capable of discovering "facts" myself.

Google is usually my starting off point.
I never click on links from here. I never take what people post here in their link to be gospel either.

I would have asked what "Baidu" was, but googled it instead.
I think people sometimes ask a question just as a conversation-starter. Of course they know they could have looked it up online. Reminding them that "google is your friend" isn't much fun.

When I became a grandmother (a little over a year ago), I saved this quote.
Most new parents now google everything that comes up, as they should!
Way better than looking at Dr Spock's baby book.

I became one in Aug. 2014 and just this summer my son asked me "Mom how in the world did you raise me with out a cell phone, computer or even cable since we lived out in the country? I thought finally he appreciates the hard work I did even if it was only daily life without electronics.
