Re: After all the yrs. of wanting an Irish sweater.......

When I was buying things on the Q, I bought several Irish woolens, but they were either sweater jackets or sweater coats. I love them all. They are perfect for Seattle weather all winter long and they work in the fall and sometimes early spring. The two full length sweater coats are cozy warm. The sweater jackets are in a variety of styles and are longer than the cardigans. They have all kinds of different knit patterns and are finished beautifully. I haven't ever ordered any of the pull overs. They just never have appealed to me.

My mother also wanted one. We had the size and color all ready to go, but on TSV day I didn't get to order it until late in the day. The color she wanted was sold out.. I had to pick another color and it was on wait list. I felt really bad I let her down. The next day I went online and found a different style in the color she wanted. She loves it. The sleeves are a tad long, but she has that issue with all sleeves.

I'm sorry you were so disappointed.

One of the women that I work with got the one from last year and it's gorgeous!!! I was tempted to get one this year but it sold out again.

She has the blue (which is the one I saw) and the tan....this year she ordered the pink.

Maybe you would like this one: A237954

I love the sweater-coat that was offered during the Irish shows.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Your post makes me laugh, Shorty...I wanted one too!

But every time I ordered a sweater, it made me look dumpy and frumpy - not like an Irish maiden walking through the heather, sniffing the sea breezes!

I returned two...one from about 5 years ago is sitting in a drawer...I was too ashamed to return it...it's my permanent reminder not to ever make that mistake AGAIN!!!

I have one of the capes - Used to wear it to football games. Very pretty and well-made, and nice if it isn't TOO chilly.

I love the Irish sweaters and purchase at least one per year. I don't consider them to be fashion sweaters, so I guess some of them could be considered frumpy, but you can dress them up and make them look less frumpy. I love to wear mine with skinny jeans and high boots and a nice t-shirt or mock turtleneck underneath.

I wouldn't spend good money for a garment that has to be made to look less frumpy.

I bought mine in Ireland and love it. It's warm as can be; it's designed for warmth, not fashion or figure flattery. Smile

I have a sweater coat from Ireland that I wear with skinny jeans, boots and a turtle neck and I belt the sweater. The word frumpy is the last adjective I would use to describe how it looks....{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I also have looked at these Irish sweaters for years and always wanted one, but never saw one that was just right for me. This year I FINALLY found one I thought I would like. It's Item No. A251983. I purchased it and I absolutely LOVE it. It doesn't make me look large, it's not frumpy -- it's just beautiful and really, really soft. I got it in the Azalea Pink and I couldn't be happier with it.Smile

Well 12.....I just looked this one up, and it is my kind of sweater. The price is quite nice too. The Azalea Pink is a beautiful color. I also like the green.... Just may have to go and order it.....since I didn't order one this year.

I store my sweaters in a cedar lined chest I have.....and love the smell when I take them out of there.

ShowMe, I think you will really like this sweater. As I said, it is so soft, doesn't make me look larger -- I love the sort of "boyfriend" look it has to it. I think all the colors are very pretty.
