We took ours down yesterday (Friday).  Just felt like it was time and since it was raining outside seemed like a perfect time to make use of a rainy day.

While we celebrate secular Christmas with our tree and Christmas cookies and candy canes.  We also celebrate the religious aspect of Christmas and the Christmas season ends with Ephiphany on Jan 6, the twelfth day of Christmas.  We take our Christmas decorations down on or shortly after Jan 7.  I admit that sometimes we don't take all of  Christmas down until a week later but we do don't use the window lights after Jan. 7.

I'm always amazed that there are people who think the twelve days of Christmas start twelve days before Christmas.

As my bff said when we were having a discussion like this  "too much Charlie Brown and not enough Sunday School".

All Christmas decor is taken down and put away before New Year's Day. I have a few decor items ( door wreath, outside door mat, and lantern) that are still displayed. These items have more of a winter theme and I will display them through February. I have never wanted Christmas decor up going into the new year.

@texassunflower  You must have known my grandmother. Smiley LOL  She never brought the old year into the new year.
