Every single person on the committee to make changes is a man...not ONE woman.

And as I've said before - women make the majority of health decisions for their families.

We need to have our voices be heard.

I'm scared since I cant go on Medicare until next year. I'm on Obamacare, have a 10K deductable and pre-existing conditions. So does DH.

Whoa, Nellie!

There won't be any major changes for a few years.

Unfortunately all the indecision and confusion doesn't sit well with insurance companies.

It took several years for them to get their rates correct...this is the season when rates are being prepared for 2018 to be presented to state financial service departments.

Healthcare is 20% of our economy. It can't be changed suddenly w/o devastating our overall economy.

Wiser heads will slow down this whole process.

Insurance companies complain because their number one goal is to not pay out anything, or pay as little as possible.

So when they have to pay out more, they squeal.

Another reason we need single payer universal health care, imo.

And we have unique healthcare needs, being our bodies are able to reproduce an enitrely new human.  No one on that committee can relate either mentally or physically to that uniqueness. What does that tell you.

They try messing with SS and Medicare.............

Some of the changes to Medicare under the ACA will be rolled back under the ACHA.  At the very least will be the elimination of "doughnut hole" coverage.  It will also roll back the latest payment schedule to providers which will increase spending and more likely than not increase premiums.

It is still too soon to know what the full impact to Medicare will be but there will be an impact.

We're on Medicare praise God !

Just hope they don't fiddle with that next. I just got off of private pay policy and it had went up to 650 a month. Just beginning to enjoy it please Lord don't let him fiddle with Medicare for those of us 65 & over. Nobody will insure us without going back up to 650 and more a month.

We have about 8 years until Medicare. Insurance through DH's employer is in jeopardy. Both of us have serious pre-existing conditions, genetic disorders since when we were kids, although we have both always worked full-time all our lives. Years ago we would have paid $680/month for each of us, or $1360/month through our state's former high-risk insurance pool. In the past some of our employers haven't wanted to provide insurance to us since we're both high-risk. If we lose our insurance in the coming years we could conceivably go through a large chunk of our retirement savings to pay for health care and insurance. We're both very worried.

FYI - The vast majority of people on Medicaid are seniors in nursing homes, the disabled of all ages, and children.

Cutting Medicaid will cause great harm to our most vulnerable seniors - people who have gone through all their money and resources and need skilled care to survive.

@terrier3- you are right and I think anyone who deserves Medicaid should receive it.  But, there are many on Medicaid who abuse it, are able to work and shouldn't be on it.  I have a dear friend, who is a multi millionaire.  His daughter, a relapsing drug addict, who has been sent to the most expensive rehabs is now on Medicaid and we are paying for her comprehensive ineffectual care due to non compliance.  She lives in a house with a pool and mother/daughter wing with her 3 year old.  Daddy buys her food, cares for her child and buys anything they need.  She is on Medicaid and food stamps and gets $ monthly and I guess she buys alcohol and drugs.  Her father gives to charity, pays high taxes but feels he's paid so she deserves the entitlement.  This is just one story and in my State, there are many stories like this.  I don't think anyone wants to hurt the frailest but some people just should not be on Medicaid.  Medicare works, the qualification is one, age....nothing subjective
