My Meeko kitty (17 years old, white with blue crossed eyes, beautiful, very sweet) is fading away and I'm at a loss of what to do. He was throwing up a lot, had recent bloodwork and everything showed OK. He's been to the doctor every few days for the past 2 months. She can't find anything wrong, after lots of tests and trials of medications. He's had a shot for a respiratory infection - the sneezing stopped. He was on prescription diet for approximately 10 years for crystals in his urine. Now his vet thinks he may be allergic to the chicken in his prescription diet and we've taken him off of all chicken. I am trying to get him to eat anything I can - always high quality food but no chicken. His thyroid level was slightly off in his latest blood tests so he's on thyroid medicine (got from a compounding pharmacy and I put it in his ear every day). He's also on anti-nausea medicine and isn't throwing up any more but also isn't eating very much. He doesn't act like he's in any pain. He purrs and loves to be held and cuddled but is fading away before my eyes. Maybe it is just his time but he just doesn't seem sick at all. Anyone dealt with anything like this before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
