Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

We have had an adjustable bed for about 15+ years.  The ONLY time I have used the adjustment is in 2020 when I coughed for 4 months.  My DH has adjusted his side maybe a half dozen times in all those years.  So it has not been great or even necessary for us.  Neither of us read in bed.  The mattress choice is much more important.

One thing to consider is the base is VERY heavy and difficult to move.

Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

As much as I like the way I sleep with my adjustable bed there is something I like even more--how much easier it is to change the linens.

By raising and lowering the head then the foot minimizes the need for me to stretch to get the sheets on an off the queen size bed.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

I've had one, Sleep Comfort, for over a year.  I only sleep on my side and it's wonderful.  I love my bed so much that now I can sleep on my side, on my back, etc.

You can always try the 100 day trial.  Not sure how it works, but you never know.

I'm a senior, 77 years young so my body used to hurt.  When I wake up, nothing hurts.  You will love it.

@I am still oxox there are several split queens out on the market.  They are unique as they are only split at the head and about 1/2 way down.  We look into them back last fall but decided upsize to a king size bed.

AtoZ sells the sheets and we buy our sheets from Peachtree sheets and they sell them as well.  Have fun!

@Seminole2 Thank you so much the thing is I do not think we could use our bedframe which has drawers in it which hold all the things that were displaced when we renovated and moved our laundry center to the linen closet

Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

[ Edited ]

We started out in our marriage with a waterbed with baffles, back when they were popular. It was very comfortable. Later, we got a Select Comfort and absolutely loved it. About a year ago it was leaking air and I was forced to buy something new. A relative advised that I get a Nectar mattress. They allow a year for you to decide if you like it. The mattress I got was too hard and I have been uncomfortable. I have always kept mattress pads on all mattresses so they stay in excellent condition. I have a Select Comfort being delivered this Wednesday, the 4th, and someone is coming to pick up the other one. I don't like all the rigamarole I have to go through but I'm so looking forward to going back to what I know and love.

I didn't get the one that elevates at the head or feet or cools or warms. I don't need that. I got the best version of the simple one. I just want to have one that cradles me and allows me to sleep well again.

Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

I have two  sleep number beds in my home. I am a side sleeper & I love these beds. One of my sleep numbers is 20 years old & still one of the best investments I have made for my sleep & health.

Re: Adjustable Bed - Side sleeper

I have had a sleep number from here for over ten years.  first, a remote stopped working, was sent a new, and the other stopped working years ago.  What I do not like about this mattress is that it cannot be turned over that I know of, so where one sleeps, the mattress has a large dip.  I had to get three mattress toppers, for the side I sleep on, and it still dips, not as bad as before though.  If the remote worked, this might have been remedied without the toppers.

It is high and difficult to get into, I am short, maybe only affects shorties, so I have to stand on a pillow which stays on the floor, place a knee on the bed and push off from the pillow, then wiggle into position.

I am looking for something easier to get into and the raised head and feet feature sounds good, I already sleep with my legs on a pillow or a pillow between my legs, also am a side sleeper.
