I read that it was made of silver. It matches Kate's.

I read she didn't wear a tiara in keeping with the "scaled down" coronation.  Sophie wore a similar headpiece.

Also read she got the nickname Kate with a "K" at St Andrew's.  The same article said William calls her Poppet and DoD for Duchess of Dolittle.
