Acupuncture for dogs

This probably has been discussed in the past, but since I haven't been here a year yet, I'd like to ask if anyone has utilized this for arthritic dogs. I have a girl that just turned 13 in Feb. and her spine is totally fused with arthritis. Pain meds help, but I really don't want to depend on them long term. So if anyone has had acupuncture for their dogs or cats, too I would appreciate your opinions on it. Thank you!
