Actor, Comedian and Writer, Charlie Murphy Died

Comedian Charlie Murphy, the elder brother of Actor/Comedian Eddie Murphy has died.

The 57 year old died from leukemia.

Murphy, had a long time stint on Dave Chapelle's show.

Murphy became a household name through Dave Chappelle's Comedy Central skit show thanks to his amazing stories of interactions with other celebrities during the height of his brother's fame in the 1980s. The most popular short turned into a skit about Rick James. Charlie Murphy

@Preds, I loved how he worked on Chapele's show (as Chapele) imitated Prince a lot.

He was an amazing comedian and truly gifted writer and storyteller. This is so incredibly sad. He was still performing, with dates on his schedule all through the chemo, and taking care of his two young children. His wife, their mother, died of cancer in 2009. So sad.

He was playing himself w/Dave as Rick James. One of the funniest skits I've ever seen! RIP, Charley. You will be sorely missed.

I agree @MickD as much as I am an Eddie Murphy fan his brother had a subtle nuance that really shown through in his work . . . I am so sorry to hear this, RIP and thanks so much for all the laughs . . .
