Yes, I enjoy abstract art. It allows me to impart my own meaning to the piece.

@occasionalrain  You don't have to understand contemporary art.  Just enjoy it for its colors, shapes textures, mood, movement, or whatever attributes it has....or not if you don't like it.

As with fashion, everything is not for everyone.

I find abstract art absurd and silly with no meaning.  In short NO I do not like it.

I like some of it, depends on the piece.

It's not my preferred choice although I've seen some that are very nice and then some that make me shake my head. I don't try to "understand" what the artist is saying, some things just aren't meant to understand but rather enjoyed. I've collected different art through my years from local (SC/NC artists) which I prefer, most of which are landscapes of my surroundings. They give me comfort since I think I'm usually surrounded by beauty in my neck of the woods.

I love abstract prints on clothing,  especially in bright colors.

It's like most everything else in that each piece is different so it depends on the colors, shapes, paint methods, etc. used,  I would say overall, I'm not a fan but occasionally I see an abstract art print I really like.

@Kachina624 's astute explanation in message 12, is the closest to the way I feel about all art.  I tend to like everything from abstract to highly realistic art, depending...

With abstracts, I am most drawn to colorful Cubist art that makes me think of the turbulence and machine obsession of the early 20th century--

But, at the opposite end, more realistic land or seascapes also draw me in, like Thomas Moran's lustrous "View of Venice"--

Probably the genre of art that pulls me the most, is art that hovers between realism, and abstraction--  you can tell it's something identifiable in real life, but it's moving in a more theoretical or conjectural direction, ha:

Like, Emily Carr's "Dancing Sunlight"--

Or, Carmen Rey's "Fern in Abstract Field II"

I don't care for abstract art. I don't understand it or the vision. I much prefer landscape, floral, people in the art.  To each his/her own.

I like some of it used as prints for garments but not so much to hang on my walls at home.
