Re: Above the Fruited 'Planes.'

We have been going to air shows for years. And we had a good friend and neighbor who was an Air Force fighter pilot. He was/is also good looking, so he was recommended for the Thunderbirds. You don't really "turn down" an assignment like that, but he had a young family, so somehow he got out of it! He became an instructor.

We used to see the Thunderbirds , Blue Angels, and/or Golden Knights (Army parachute team) every year at one time. The only times they don't tour is if the US is involved in a conflict. So no touring during the Gulf war and the Iraq war.

They don't come here every year any longer. Like everything, I imagine it's harder financially. IDK for sure!

We don't have them this year, but I hope we see them next year!

Re: Above the Fruited 'Planes.'

There was a big show several years ago at Annapolis.  The Blue Angels were flying.  I didn't know about it, but I was walking in my neighborhood and I heard this BIG sound.  Like very big engines.  I looked and there they were.  Giving a free show.  There about 7 or 8 planes.  Soaring up in the sky and then down.  Turning into a line of planes.  So impressive. The   sky was pure blue and the sun was out, and it looked wonderful.  That was the second time I ever saw them.  The first one was planned event and we wen't out to see them.  Totally different the second time around!
