@Peaches Mcfee and others,

You mentioned a video that shows other people's feelings and what we don't know what they are going through.

I think it is from the Cleveland Clinic titled "Empathy: The Human Connection To Patient Care."

Wonderful video.

It's really hard for people who have not experienced loss in life to be empathetic, sympathetic yes, empathetic no.

Could they share that with other medical facilities?

I was just saying yesterday to someone that I am not a human to any of my medical peeps.  I am a faceless statistic. We were talking about a scare I had years ago and how unempathetically it was handled.

My doctor is great.  The organization behind her, not so much.  And there is only so much a doctor can do without the support of provider.

The latest now is a survey they have you fill out that just goes into the computer.  No one looks at it.   I left half of it blank and the nurse came back and said I had to at least answer the mental health question.  I almost wanted to ask her what she would do if I choose the worst answer possible for it.  I was very tempted to pull that card just for fun.

@Laura14  So be careful what you tell a doctor's office.  Even though no one might look at your answers, if they are put into a computer system, they will remain there forever and since information is shared, it might come back to haunt you.

There is no privacy anymore.  A doctor put down the wrong DX for me one time....just checked off the incorrect box.  It wasn't long after that until my insurance company started to send me info and I got invited to attend meetings at the hospital for people with that problem.

I still get info in the mail for a common illness I do not have.

@Carmie  You are so right.  I caught a fleeting image of myself being dragged into a padded room on a 5150 and told them my mental health was excellent. Nothing to see here!

Very tempting to see if they had the strait jacket ready though. Smiley Wink

@Lucky Dog

Thank you for sharing this.  So very true.

All of us need to see this and think about it because one never knows what is really going on in someone else’s life.

I appreciate that @Drythe.  I would hate to need bail for rubbing anyone out.  Smiley WinkSmiley Very Happy
