They showed on the news or somewhere the other night those big shipping containers just sitting on barge's in the Pacific off of CA. and on the east coast just waiting to be shipped from the docks, but nothing is moving. Nothing going out or coming in. I don't get it.

Have you been reading how much it's expected to cost to enlarge the canal in order to get the ship out?  Wonder who is expected to pay for that mess!

@BirkiLady,  it has been reported that the containers on the ship are stacked high enough that strong wind against them caused the ship to turn (paraphrasing).  Doubtful that the captain would be able to do anything to correct that.  It would be similar to a rogue wave hitting a ship broadside causing it to capsize.

As for any shortages, once again, no one can come up with a work around? What, they can't air lift containers out? Ridiculous. One source is saying the ship will be freed over the weekend, others have their doubts and are saying weeks. Meanwhile, there is the option of taking the slower route around, which it's said adds a week to travel time... Better a week longer than not getting there at all...

@Marp  Thank you! I read just a brief paragraph about the incident and the expected expense. Couldn't imagine how that happened. You've made a lot of sense of a very unfortunate accident.

@millieshops   The price of materials increased dramatically last year. Imagine they will do the same again this year. Dang, I was also going to do some remodeling as well. You know those prices will never go down, but do I really want to spent even more? IDK!!
