I was just made aware of this, and the only "recent" thing I'm finding is from 2013. Have you seen/heard anything locally?
HOWE TOWNSHIP – State police in Perry County have not ruled out the husband as a suspect in the shooting death of his wife last week, a death that was originally thought to be a possible suicide, according to court records.
The body of Jennifer Rose Galbraith, 39, was discovered in the living room of her home along the first block of Red Hill Road by her husband, Chad Galbraith, just before 10 p.m. Aug. 27.
"Due to the fact that Chad Galbraith was the only person in the residence at the time of his wife's death, the possibility of foul play needs to be ruled out surrounding the victim's death," records state.
Until now, authorities have said Jennifer Galbraith died of a gunshot wound to the head from an apparent suicide, and that state police were investigating several "unusual circumstances" surrounding the death.
Chad Galbraith told investigators he was in the shower when he heard a popping noise coming from the living room and discovered that his wife had apparently shot herself, records state.
Jennifer Galbraith's body was found seated in the center of a couch; there was a black semi-automatic handgun lying near her right forearm, records state.
Chad Galbraith told troopers he moved the gun while attempting to check his wife for a pulse, records state. Documents do not state where the gun was positioned when he discovered his wife's body.
Chad Galbraith also told troopers that he and his wife had dinner with friends in Harrisburg and arrived home in separate cars at about 8 p.m., records state.
Court records state that the couple argued that night. Chad Galbraith told troopers his wife was upset, accusing him of not finding her attractive.
"Chad related his wife continued ... if she shot herself he would not even miss her in two weeks," records state.
Perry County District Attorney Charles Chenot said there were several questions in the case that will need to be sorted out before a final ruling on the death can be made.
"One of the main ones is the gun being moved," Chenot said. "That's going to need to be worked out."
The manner of death won’t be determined until autopsy results — including toxicology and tissue results — come back from the lab. That likely will take about two months, officials said.
Trooper Robert Hicks, a state police spokesman, said the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment.
No one answered the door at the Galbraith home Wednesday morning.
According to the search warrant, a .40-caliber Desert Eagle pistol containing Jennifer Galbraith's hair, knife, a cellphone, Toshiba laptop computer, Jennifer Galbraith's clothing, tissues, the shower curtain were among items seized from the home were seized as evidence.
