I hope I don't have to be afraid of a family member or close friend...but do we really know for sure...we never know what could click in someones head and they do something evil...

I do know I sold my home and chose to live in an apartment so there would be people around me...I was afraid just living alone in my home....even though it was a very safe neighborhood.........

Eh no Im not afraid of anyone in my family. We are all close and trust each other with our lives. I couldn't have asked for a better family!

That story is sad and horrible!

No, though stats show you are more likely to be killed by a family member or close friend.

Biting tongue about another statistic but it would blow up the thread.

Do tell.....{#emotions_dlg.blink}

No one in my family who I fear. However, there was a time when I had concerns about an Ex-Husband, but he died several years back.

hihi --

what a macabre topic for conversation. yes, i am aware that i am participating!

i am afraid. there is very much of a PTSD component to that fear. that doesn't make me less afraid.

it saddened me to read what i saw as some glib and judgmental replies regarding people in fear. people who haven't known fear like this can't know what they might do in a similar situation. i mean, i don't know how i might live had i *not* known fear. it changes one.

I found out a couple of years ago when my DH had to be hospitalized that I was more afraid than I thought. I had never spent a night alone since we have been married. My daughter knew how exhausted I was and offered to send one of my teenage grandson's over but I said no. Poor decision on my part. I heard every noise you could hear and more! I thought I needed to be "brave" and be a "biggy girl"...instead I was over the top just plain scared. I think if I had my big "Aussie" I wouldn't have been so scared. If I am left alone one day, I am pretty sure I will have to get a BIG dog. I do have "protection" in the house but I don't keep it loaded.
