Am going to post this in a couple of places in hopes I get an answer. I have just come home from seeing my neurologist and he has ordered an EEG where I have to stay awake 24 hours. I am to be driven in for the test and they want to watch my brainwaves while I am sleeping.
My question is how do you keep yourself awake for the 24 hours??? I think I can do fine until about midnight, but then it's going to be tough. I am not allowed any caffeine after midnight but can have anything caffeine free. They also said if I just feel like I'm not going to make it, I can have 1 hour sleep, but must make sure and set alarm. They went on to say the test gets better results when patient doesn't have the 1 hour sleep.
I"m hoping someone has had this test or can at least give me some suggestions. Thank you for your help.
Vicki
