I read in an AP report that the complicated dispute(s) between Blake Lively and her former co-star Justin Baldoni,  are scheduled for a court date in March, 2026.  I had to read that twice-- 2026?!

There's been so much vitriol, and so many claims and counterclaims already, it's kind of amazing that they won't be able to go to trial for over a year.

Find it confusing, but it seems that she alleges that during the film they made together, he created a hostile work environment, including harassment. In turn, he alleges a smear campaign against him, and various lawsuits are flying, including against media.

Are the courts so backed up that they have to wait till next year for a full hearing?  Or are there other reasons for the delay.

The whole thing seems somewhat reminiscent of the Johnny Depp/ Amber Heard debacle.

Re: ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TRIAL?

@Oznell I have avoided this story with every fiber of my being! I honestly only read a couple of lines of your post but I'm sure it's helpful for some Woman Happy  I also avoided that whole Johnny Depp mess.

I was very engrossed in the Depp/Heard trial, and to this day I have been known to occasionally rewatch parts of it!  I'll be watching.

Re: ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TRIAL?

I feel really sorry for Ryan Reynolds, who seems to be a pretty decent guy. She has had a horrible reputation doing things like this for years, so I do tend to believe it. I think she thinks she is better, smarter, prettier and has more power than she actually does - I think it is her husband who has more clout. Just my thoughts. And using her friendship with Taylor Swift just shows me that she is definitely part of a "mean girl" tribe.

How do you fell about that trial?

I have lost my thing for Johnny Depp.  I do not believe he is totally in the wrong or totally inocent either.  I am disappointed in him and he just turns me off any more.

Tortally an actor.

Re: ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TRIAL?

@Oznell, I wonder if the length in time until a trial is for numerous back and forths in an attempt for some type of out of court settlement.

I don't think it's a good look for either one of them.

@Lisa now in AZ, I'm confused by your Taylor Swift "mean girls" tribe comment. I've never heard a credible source refer to Swift as a mean girl.

I don't think Blake Lively has "that reputation" . If she was a man, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. . It is system that favors men. For lack of words I can't use on this forum. Believe me.  I have many family in the business, some  have been on sets with some people mentioned on these threads. I'm not sayin who.  I would save it all for trial.  I think Ryan totally supports her. And I think she has a a lot of people supporting her. Of course people will take sides, it's normal.  It is so sexist in the business, getting better, but still there. A lot is dismissed in favor of deadlines, deadlines, special actors, and money, money money. After the strike, things aren't so good, the bottom line is keeping deadlines and staying on budget and pleasing your banker.

Re: ANOTHER HIGH PROFILE TRIAL?

I think the amount of time is normal for these cases. Court docket is full, especially Los,Angeles.  It is high profile, not high priority. Not murder or urgent. Also, one needs plenty of time to prepare this kind of case. Also, because of filming or prior engagements they both might have settled on this date.
