As of 1PM we have not been able to run water, flush toilets, use water to cook, wash hands, drink, shower, brush teeth....you get the picture. 50,000 w/o water. Watermain burst....could be 24 hrs. to 3 days to repair. Yuck!

Is there a boil order or absolutely no water at all?

@patbz. My 1st thought, but when TV announcement said 24 hrs. -3days.....I called hotels 45 minutes away & all were booked.

Not 5 minutes warning. Thank God we drink bottled water & my husband has a water cooler in his office w/ extra lg. bottles to put on. He brought 2 home. Sadie and Molly's bowl was filled first & then we assigned bathrooms for the duration...no flushing...😩

I went through that once and it lasted a week I think ... it would be an understatement to say I totally pity you... I remember gallons of store bought water and relying on the kindness of family for showers.

Where is this happening? It sounds awful. Is there a family member you can stay with?

Oh no!  How inconvenient for you.  We get floods in the area where I live and this has happened to us before.

if it is more than one day, the national guard brings water tankers to our neighborhoods where we can fill up containers for our use.  They also simply drinking water for those who need it.

I hope your problem gets fixed quickly or water is supplied by your local government to help you out, if not.
