She does look different...and not 'weight loss' different. 

For only a '3 Stone' (42 pounds) weight loss, one would still

maintain their basic look...and not be totally unrecognizable.

It kinda/sorta reminds me when Renee Zellweger lost weight

and changed her look. I wouldn't be surprised if Adele had

some fillers due to the weight loss. Glad I wasn't the only one

who didn't recognize her at all.

I think she looks so different because she is on the beach with either no or little make-up.

She is usually really made up, especially her eyes.

The pics at the beach don't look like how we're used to seeing her because of the lack of makeup and 60's hair, but the bottom pic in the black dress with the statement hair and makeup look just like her, only thinner.

Haven't heard any of her music lately.  Although I think she's a huge talent I just never listened to her a lot, mostly because I found a lot of it really depressing

I haven't paid any attention to Adele ever.   The last song I knew was hers was Fire in the Rain.  In that song, she had a beautiful voice.   I stopped listening to music ages ago.  So, I have no 

feelings or knowledge about her at all, but I do know what she (used) to look like.

All I can say is that if I'd seen the new pic , I wouldn't have any idea who that was.   I would just think it was someone who might be ill or not aging well.   It doesn't mean she can't still sing or isn't a nice person or isn't beautiful to some.   But to me, that person in the pic doesn't look well.

Adele doesn't misuse her success by turning out CD after CD like many others.

The time span in her discography along with her concert tours shows the care she takes to turn out music for the sake of music and not for the sake of $$ or to remain relevant.

I believe that is why some forget about her.

She remains relevant because of how she handles her career.

We all have different tastes in music and that is fine. 

Adele is a true artist and I look forward to hearing.

What you see is what you get with Adele; she still wants to please her audience, not herself.

Some divas could take a page from her book, imo.
