That story failed to mention that she posted to FB a photo of her flipping them the bird after supposedly buying their coffee. I fail to see how she has turned the other cheek or is setting a good example for her daughter.

Her story doesn't ring true to me. It looks like a ploy for sympathy. There is a gofundme account set up for her (of course). Although she didn't set it up, she's been sharing the link and promoting it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. As soon as i see a gofundme account (and a poor me baby story to go with it with no witnessess) my bs meter goes off. Guess I'm just funny that way.

em·pa·thy
ˈempəTHē/
noun

  1. the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

Empathy is NOT a natural response, it is taught, or should be, usually by parents.

There is so much out there that needs to be taught to a child from the very beginning Every child will pull on an animal's ear or tail.... it's up to US to teach them that it hurts the animal just like it would hurt them and therefore do not do it.  I strongly believe that parents out there are not teaching their small children these things as evidenced by what we are seeing daily from those that have grown up without such teachings.

@JJsMom@silkyk, @nun ya, and @Daisy Sunflower,  I tried various searches and I can't locate a gofundme account associated with her name -- maybe I'm missing something?

@dooBdoo  I did see a screen shot of the Gofundme page. I guess some people went on her personal page and saw some very mean posts directed at other races and disabled people. So she deleted both the Gofundme and FB  The store managers are saying if this incident occured they did not see it.

Re: A wake up call to being kind.

As my Father always taught me, "If they can live with their words and actions, so can I".

Treat others like you want to be treated.

At the end of each day when you lay your head on the pillow, can you sleep in peace.

I don't have to worry about how other people treat me, only how I treat others.

Re: A wake up call to being kind.

Thanks, @nun ya and @Daisy Sunflower.  I guess we never know about stories like this one until they've undergone some careful scrutiny.  Once someone gets in the public eye as a role model of sorts it's not good if there are "skeletons in the closet."  At any rate, even if it's theoretical it's an interesting storyline for discussion.
