I found out about this a year or so ago on ABC Nightly News when that aired a week-long series of budget & shopping tips to save money.  Some online retailers also offer a discount on your first online order if you get on their email list.  Funny thing about that is if you wait until you have received a couple of emails from them then unsubscribe, you may again get that "new customer" offer the next time you visit that site.

tricks of the trade. Online shopping is huge and one has to use a lot of search engines to often find the best deals. 

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.

I heard about this last year so have been paying attention.  I haven't had that happen either.  I have received some followup emails about things in my cart but no offers or incentives to purchase.
