A sheet of plywood for snow removal

  • Last night on Instagram I saw a man use a sheet of plywood scraping it along his driveway to remove snow. Did a good job.

I saw a video of someone with drafty single pane windows, line the outside edges with double-face tape then stick sheets of bubble wrap to it cut to size,  to serve as insulation.  I immediately ordered both from Amazon to apply to my dog door in my slider.  It makes my house so cold and I can't remove it.

@Kachina624  I think that will work for you, I have a friend who did something similar to a pet door. She leaves it permanently all year because it also helps with the heat/hot air in the summer.

Re: A sheet of plywood for snow removal

My husband and neighbor shoveled our driveway yesterday while I was at work.  Grateful. We are forecasted for about 5 more inches this weekend so I will be out there shoveling as well.  It's a great full body workout but we gotta be careful...frequent breaks, small amounts on shovel, etc.   Not sure how the plywood would work with scooping it up.

Pushing a sheet of plywood would be fine if the snow wasn't deep or sticking to the pavement. Forget it if the snow was deep and sticky.

THAT would definitely NOT work for "lake effect" snow.    (It's wet and HEAVY).

There's various techniques people use.  Never heard about the plywood method though.  This one I would never try!  I would probably set the whole neighborhood up in flames.

Re: A sheet of plywood for snow removal

We had a couple inches of snow the other day and I used my leaf blower to get it off my sidewalks and driveway. I also have one of those plow shovels I got from QVC many years ago. They both work well when the snow isn't real deep or wet. One of my better purchases.

YEAH!!   @Desertdi

Wet Snow!  Perfect for Snowballs!!    Snowball Fights!     Snowmen!

And Building Snow Forts!

Id invite all the neighborhood kids over and attack that super snow.  Confine them to the Driveway, breaking up the snow, thus, making shoveling even easier, after they break the snow up!!  And disperse the snow away from the Driveway.

Or pay the kids to shovel.  yeah!

a group of people are standing in the snow .
