A question about "notifications"

If this has been addressed elsewhere, my apologies.

I've noticed a new twist to the notifications system the last few days or so. Before, I was notified only directly by name. Now when I get a notification, it's also even if my name was just mentioned somewhere in the multiple quotes. I hope this makes sense. I find it a tad anoying.

Anyone else notice this? If I need to try to clarify it more, let me know. :-)

Re: A question about "notifications"

That's what I'm seeing, too. Every new post which contains my name triggers a notification, including ones where  my posts are quoted.

I noticed this too, @suzyQ3.   I don't remember this from the past, either.

Re: A question about "notifications"

Yes, I've noticed it too.  I like being notified when I'm quoted initially, and I think that makes sense.  I don't like being notified when that embedded quote is subsequently quoted.  That's going to water down what I assume was the intent, IMO, and have the effect of making me much less attentive to my notifications than I was.

Re: A question about "notifications"

Yes, it happened at the same time they fixed the "wrote."  Like WenGirl42 I like it when it's my post that's being quoted.  Sometimes someone will reply to me without paging me with the @ sign.   I might not have come back to that thread, so I do like being notified at that time.
