I'm sorry, I never got back to this last night.
Anyway, you remember I told you my daughter is studying Native Americans? Well she had to watch a video that showed a tribe in Alaska (I can't recall the name of the tribe). Anyway the video showed them walking and speaking in their native language. No subtitles. DD said every once in a while the leader would slap his forehead. DD thought it was part of the language or perhaps a religious connotation.....
......then she discovered when the light was better....there were flies he was slapping on his forehead.! I thought that was so funny that she thought it was part of the process.

actually it was.....but then I had to back away and remember most things people know about native people is from some funky B movie.............a good movie on netflix, she may want to watch, is called Reel Injuns............a very good movie about how native people have been portrayed and what most non-natives think an "injun" is....written and directed by a native person.......if she wants to learn about native people, it's helpful to watch movies about native people written and directed by native people.......it's that history is written by the winners thing lol..................................................raven
