OH, that is so sweet, @cherry! Love good news.
Saturday was my daddy's 81 birthday. We nearly lost him about 8 years ago. He got group A strep, and was in the hospital for about 4 weeks. They didn't know for a while if he would make it or not. I really believe it is a miracle he is still with us.
Also, we had bad storms and tornado warnings last night, but I haven't heard of any damage. The tornado sirens went off twice at my house. I think thats pretty good news, too.

@cherry Please pay no attention to the negativity.I think your story was heartwarming.
Yesterday we had dinner with my son’s girlfriend’s parents. They thanked us for “raising such a wonderful young man”. They told us that they had given up on their daughter meeting a guy with good old fashioned values.DH told them that I deserve the credit for doing all the grunt work & taking all the heat.
Today DH & I are bursting with pride. My son is more than I ever imagined.I learn something new from him everyday. It’s a journey I’m so blessed to be taking!!

I get that this struggling working woman is paying extra to send her kids to school.
was that really necessary?

Thank you for this sunshine,
And the reminder that good things DO happen !

Lovely story, thanks for sharing. Ignore the negativity,
it reflects on them, NOT you.
Even if someone feels that way, what is the point in posting it? To vent, to ruin someone’s happy mood.
To spread misery, I suggest they keep it to themselves, even though we know misery loves company.

Thank you Cherry!
You did start my day off on a wonderful note.
Most people are good and kind and caring.
We do need to hear about the goodness in these hard times.
If you have children this is the type of story that should be shared with them.

I'll tell you all a bit about this young woman. When she was fit to return to work after her bout with breast cancer, her waitressing job at a restaurant ,was filled, they couldn't hold it for her
We went to a car wash one day, and low and behold ,she was washing cars. She had a cloud of curls, that had grown back from her chemo. She was wearing black rubber boots and a parka, and giving everyone the best car wash you could find, with a huge warm ,and genuine smile, She has known some very tough times , but through it all has remained a kind woman, that never turns her back on anyone in need
There aren't many people who would do such a menial job, with just good will. She was able to find another restaurant a bit later( ours ) and has been there every since..
I think that $500 was money well invested, because she will raise a child that will be a good citizen ,and a kind person, I am sure her benefactor knew this

When I read your post I thought wow, such kindness in the world exists and reminded me of the time I took my young son to breakfast and a total stranger paid my tab. The waitress told me they wanted to be anonymous. I was greatfull.
I didn't see the deleted post, but read the responses from it. I cant believe that someone would react negatively to someone giving a Mother a donation to her son's school. It just boggles my mind. Why cant people be happy for other people instead of negative and nasty?
