It would collect a lot in the corner @SilleeMee  which sometimes was too much water. I'll sweep it out now when it rains a lot like tomorrow.

the rest of the front yard grass is plush and green as is my backyard.

I am getting a sitting area @Desertdi. Ordered it this afternoon and will arrive Monday. I also purchased beautiful pottery pots to add greenery and some flowers.

@qvcfreak     I actually DO have a front courtyard.    It is fenced...because of uninvited visitors wanting to have a "chat"....salesmen, missionaries, people looking for directions, inquiries about neighbors, etc. -- at all hours, day or night.    di

@qvcfreak

My next-door neighbor cemented his entire front yard last week. We get snow here and I asked him what he was planning on doing with the snow and he just looked at me very strangely. I mentioned that he might have to keep the kids off his ice skating rink when the winter comes around! He didn't put any drains anywhere on that slab and when the snow melts it will freeze. He's not from around here and he has no idea what to look forward to...lol!Woman LOL

@SilleeMee      Of course, when it melts, it will run off into YOUR yard.   Murphy's Law.  di

@qvcfreak

Neighbor cemented over of his utility lines...gas, water and sewage. If anything goes wrong with any of those then he'll be paying a lot to fix stuff. Can you imagine?! Nightmare.

@Desertdi

Neighbor put up a cement retaining wall between his property and mine so the run-off will just go out into the street which will make everyone here happy when that freezes over. It's already bad enough with just the snow there and then it will be ice on top of that. Not good planning at all.

@SilleeMee     Does your municipality require BUILDING PERMITS for stuff like that?     He could be in deep doo doo for causing run-off into a city street....

We don't even have storm sewers where I live....
