The padded envelopes are being used for many Amazon deliveries.  I have been surprised by a few items delivered that way.  Cardboard is at a premium.

I wonder why it was delivered. Did the driver not realize it was open and nothing was inside. Strange

@Janey2  the driver does not know what should be in the package. I once got an empty envelope that was not sealed on one side. It should have contained a 32oz of Aveeno Lotion. I called Amazon and got a new one the next day.

@Janey2 - I know!  It was a UPS driver in a car, not the UPS truck. He delivered that and a larger envelope from Talbots.

@gidgetgh  the envelope that should have contained my 32oz Aveeno lotion was open at one side because it was not sealed properly. Mine was not stolen. Mine was sealed on a slant rather than straight.

Where was the opening for you?

Yes I have received empty ripped open packaging before. I hope you get a refund or your mustard.

@godi  they will send her another package if she wants it.  That's why I love Amazon.

@gidgetgh Was the package on your porch for awhile? Or did the driver give it to you like that?

@Ladybug724 - I was sitting in the living room, about 20 feet from the front door. He rang the bell, I walked to the door and got my 2 packages.  So no one walked up to the door and did it.

@gidgetgh Wow. Either the driver did it or he didn't care what condition the package was in. How could the driver not see the package was open and empty? Sad

@Ladybug724  the drivers have no idea what should be inside the packages. They are too busy delivering to check it. Just imagine a 32oz bottle of Aveeno lotion disappeared because the machine didn't seal the envelope properly. I got another delivery the next day.

@Sage04 it was slit open across the entire length of the envelope.

@gidgetgh  yes it was not sealed properly. Same as mine.

Maybe the envelope was caught up in machinery and the bottles fell out 🤷🏼‍♀️

maybe but it was a straight slit all across the top, not uneven or jagged.

I just got a delivery from Amazon, delivered by UPS.  It was an 8x10 padded envelope.

The envelope had been slit open and was totally empty.  Nothing but air inside the envelope.

I hope whoever helped themselves to the contents along the way enjoys their 2 jars of mustard.

It was an Amazon prime item.  I sent them a message.

@gidgetgh   I didn't read the whole thread so my apology if this has been answered.

Was the label on the envelope yours?

I'm just wondering if you were given another customer's opened bag.

Amazon will make good on this mess.

We are watching the tracking from Amazon very carefully now.  Once we see the "Dot" moving around the corner DH goes out to the driveway and has the package delivered to him.

We are expecting only one more package (not Amazon) and the tracking is very up to date so we will stay home the day of delivery.

Sorry about your mustard, though.  Very odd.

I think the drivers must be on overload.
