Hi Everyone -

I just wanted to update all of you on my little guy's progress, as well as THANK YOU for all of your kind words and well wishes. I took him back yesterday for his ultrasound and it looks like his stomach, liver, and pancreas are all back to normal. It also appears that the hematoma is dissolving and there is NO abscess, which means he does not need another surgery! The vet did tell me that all of this recent trouble is a result of the surgery and it never would've occurred had he not had the unnecessary surgery. He's still on some meds and should, fingers crossed, be back to normal in 2-3 weeks. Now that I've compiled all of the information and paperwork, my husband will be calling the emergency vet to explain the situation. We've spent over $5000 on this whole ordeal. This could've and should've been handled properly when we first took him in for much less money. While my pup's health is most important and you can't put a price on his happiness, I still feel that they should own up to their mistake and handle some of the cost. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I wonder if the bad publicity would be worth it to them if they don't at least listen and consider. It was definitely a mistake on their part, and careless practice - several of the vets and specialists we spoke to over the last few days have agreed. If anything, I hope they think twice before they put another pup and family through this kind of nightmare. Again, thank you for all of your kind words and for keeping us in your prayers. xo
