I cringe when people say Happy Memorial Day.  There is nothing happy about it..

@Kachina624 : Thank you . DH is retired military . He received email this morning asking if he was celebrating today and doing BBQ. He responded and stated he has been in prayer and humble for the sacrifice others made. He told the person : what is   " memorial " ?  

Then he went out to eat and some one told him: Thank you for your service and enjoy your day. He replied : Please don't  say this to a Veteran.

What's wrong with thanking someone for their service?

@KKJ : Normally it's ok. But not on Memorial Day .DH believes this is reserved to honor the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice.

I get it ...upon hearing this .. I agree ...
