Re: A Southern Christmas Eve

I remember that too...DH and I moved to Phoenix after we were married in 1971.  Called my parents on Christmas from a pay phone at 7-11 because we didn't have a phone..it was 80° IN AZ..in the east where my family was it was snowing.  It was weird seeing saguaros decorated with Christmas decorations.  DW

@dancingwoman.  I remember many times in Houston having to turn on the AC so we could use the oven to roast the turkey.  It's was depressing for me.

Re: A Southern Christmas Eve

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!  I would not want to live where I couldn't go horseback riding in my shorts in December some years.

No thank you snow and ice for me.  Just the short dark days of winter are bad enough!

No a/c in PHX today!    Heavy fog even closed the airport for a while!

Today it's 79 in South Texas. I'm wearing shorts and AC is on.

I live in upstate SC and it's 57 degrees here!   I was just out on the deck remarking how it doesn't feel like December here.

Re: A Southern Christmas Eve

We used to visit my grandparents in the Bradenton area over the Christmas holidays when I was a kid. I have lots and lots of pictures of my sister and I all wrapped up in our winter coats, hats & mittens because it was downright cold. Fortunately I have many, many more of us happily basking in the sun on the beach. The cold visits weren't the norm, but they certainly were memorable!

@Desertdi.  We had fog Thursday  and Friday mornings.  The Sandias looked like the Smokies.  They're beautiful today though coveered with snow, bright blue skies, breezy and cold.
