A Guy With Jetpack Near LAX Yesterday.

I just read a story on CNN about a pilot seeing a guy with a jetpack tooling near LAX Wednesday afternoon.  There was another incident September 1.

The September sighting was an American airline pilot alerting a Jet Blue plane about the guy.

The dope was at 3,000 ft. and was about 30 yards from the plane.

Good grief, CA is a big state, you can't find an open space with no planes landing and taking off.

Besides possibly bringing down a plane he's going to end up like a bug on the windshield of one.

Let's see, unruly passengers, drunken pilots, bird strikes, laser points. Now, jetpacks.

One of the air controllers was heard say, "only in LA."

This incident reminds me of "Lawnchair Larry," another adventurous and "flighty" Californian who invaded the LAX airspace.

@golding76   Unfortunately he committed suicide years later.  I think he had given the chair to a young boy and it was in a garage but years later it was put on display at some museum.

Then people wonder why there are copy-cats.

Same with this new person with a jetpack; he'll be somebody's "hero" and the copy-cats attempt this stunt.

@golding76  Was that the guy with all the balloons and a lawn chair?

I hate heights and the thought of that alone, just a lawn chair and balloons keeping me from falling that far, makes me break out in a sweat.

I used to joke with my DH that if he ever wanted to get rid of me don't try the old "she fell off the edge of the cliff taking pictures" ploy.

Everyone knows I would never go up high much less near the edge of anything. lol

Yes, Retired, that was the guy.

He longed to fly, had a lawn chair, attached some helium balloons to the chair -- and up, up and away he went.

I'll never forget the fella.
