A Family Issue

My friend had her alcoholic, drug seeking son move in with her while she was fighting a battle with cancer. She passed away. Her husband, who isn't his Father, is putting the house on the market and is trying to get him to move out. Son says he has nowhere to go but really isn't trying. Anyone have any idea about what he can do to get him out of there? The house will not sell if he is there and the husband cannot afford the house, son is jobless and doesn't contribute.
