It seems like there are more people that I loved that are dead, than people I love who are alive.

Does anyone else feel this way....

I'm sure it's inevitable that we will all reach that point.

I lived over 30 years in Houston.  Had many good friends there.  Every single person except one is gone now.  It's kind of creepy.  It was all cancer of one type or another.

Three years ago Ex husband passed away. His death really came suddenly. Though he wasn't in the best of health. Sixty yrs old in today's terms is quite young. Couldn't wrap my head around the fact he was gone. Changed my life indeed profound impact. Moved to be closer to family Son DIL and Grandchildren. Wake-up call for me.

@YorkieonmyPillow, I think, there comes a time for all of us. Do you know the old song by the Byrds? "To Everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season, turn, turn & a time to every purpose unto Heaven."  (I believe it's from the Bible).  Anyway, that song says it all, to me.

Unfortunately for some this comes early in life. Most of my family were passed on by time I was 32 and I've not married and had children of my own due to fear of more more loss. I've survived emotionally but it has been a challenge not to miss more than I enjoy.

Yes --- as the saying goes --- aging is not for sissies!!!

And as my husband says, we are at the age where anything can happen at any time!  We try to treat each other as though each day were our last!  It sounds kind of fatalistic but, really, you never know!

I can't think about all of it too much because I get freaked out and depressed!

When I was a lot younger, I thought --- why do old people talk about the past so much and seem stuck in a time warp and continually talk about all of these people and places that are gone.

Well --- now I know why!!!!!
